Tube wire rope thimble without gusset is also known as a semi-closed thimble. Tube thimbles are ideal for use on wire rope where flexibility is key. Examples being in fishing industry where wire rope for bottom fishing is assembled with netting and store on large net winches. Conventional heavy duty thimble and sleeve creates a very rigid termination causing high spot and tangling on net winch. Tube thimbles are placed in eyes of ropes with the sleeve pressed a distance down the rope to enable the eye to flex and contour around the winch drum between the thimble and the sleeve.
These tube thimbles come reinforced with gusset to prevent thimble from collapsing under load. Gusset is welded to thimble on one side only allowing thimble to be opened for installation over rings and hooks. Ideal for wire rope winch lines and other wire or synthetic rope terminations. Cannot be used with flemish eye splices. Allow 6 times the diameter of the rope behind thimble before starting splice. This will ensure flexibility behind thimble.
Thimbles are designed and manufactured to protect wire rope from wear and damage, and preserve the shape of the eye when using shackles and hooks. Always ensure that you have the correct thimble for the size of rope being used, for any intermediate size the next size must be used. Thimbles are not load rated and only serve to protect the rope. Always inspect thimbles for abuse, damage, cracks and deformation (stretch) before use. Thimbles can be used for wire or synthetic rope.

Maintenance and Proper Usage
To ensure the continued efficiency and safety of the solid Thimble, regular inspection and maintenance are essential. Checking for signs of wear, deformation, or corrosion should be part of routine checks. Additionally, proper installation and adherence to manufacturer guidelines are crucial for optimal performance.
